Advisor - Online Communication

Position Type/ Hours:
This is a permanent full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.
Position Description:
Individuals in this position, under supervision from the Senior Advisor, Creative Services, work with all municipal departments to lead the administration and creation of municipal website content for both external Internet and internal Intranet. This position also requires close interaction with all three branches of the Communication Department to ensure that work requests are delegated and completed promptly and accurately.
• Two (2) year post-secondary diploma in website certification.
• Multi-media and corporate communication certificates required.
• Minimum three (3) years website experience which includes content management, web casting and other web trend technologies in the communication/public relations field.
• Superb knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Dreamweaver, ImageReady/Photoshop Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Movie maker is a necessary asset.
• Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, CSS, ASP, and JavaScript is a necessary asset.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Public sector experience considered a strong asset.
• Mastery of industry standard computer hardware and software tools.
• Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, are required.
• Ability to gather and summarize information in order to communicate information to the public by asking appropriate questions is required.
• Experience in web writing is required.
• Familiarity with marketing, public relations, and communication principles is required.
• Proven project management skills and a detail oriented work style are required.
• Familiarity with e-government and e-learning is required.
• Ability to express ideas with tact and diplomacy is required.
• Demonstrated ability to be creative and flexible in a team environment is required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment is required.
Pay / Classification Level: PL 18
Salary Range:
$38.96 (Probationary Rate)
$42.75 - $45.82 (Permanent Rates)
